My guest today is Dr. Anne Perez. Dr. Perez has a PhD in History and an MA in Theological Studies and specializes in modern Jewish and Israeli history. She currently teaches history at the University of South Alabama. Her new book Understanding Zionism, published this year by Fortress Press, is a detailed historical overview of the development of modern Zionism, chronicling both the advocates and the critics of the movement and how Zionist ideas have shaped modern geopolitical events.
