Honor the Emperor: Does 1 Peter 2 Require Christians to Pledge Allegiance to the State?

Romans 13 has often been cited to support the State, but it’s not the only passage that talks about submission to governing authorities. In this episode, I dive into the passage in 1 Peter 2 in which we are told to honor the emperor. What does it mean to give honor, and is honor always the same regardless of the person? Is this passage a rebuttal to libertarian anarchism, or does it have more to do with how we as Christians are to act in the face of persecution? In this episode, we dive into the passage and answer these questions.
