The Christians for Liberty Conference is a premiere event exploring the intersections of libertarian thinking and Christian living, hosted at St. Edwards University (Mabee Ballroom, Ragsdale Center) in south Austin, just 15 minutes from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The Ragsdale Center is at the corner of Andre and Moody Drive on the main campus, and the Mabee Ballroom is on the 2nd floor. Click here for a campus map. Most lot parking is available in the summer, and we recommend parking in the lot just south of the Ragsdale Center at the corner of Andre and Moody. More parking, including a covered lot, is located a short distance down Moody Drive to the east. To see a parking map, click here.
Activities will begin at 9:00 am (doors open at 8:30 am) on August 6th, 2016. We are proud to welcome Dr. Robert Murphy as our keynote speaker. Bob is an economist, author, consultant, scholar at the Mises Institute, and long-time friend of LibertarianChristians.com. His published books include the Politically Incorrect Guide to Capitalism, Choice, Chaos Theory, and more. He also is the co-host of the Contra Krugman Podcast with Dr. Thomas Woods, and posts regular economics, cultural, and religious commentary at Free Advice.
Look below for the full list of speakers – it’s going to be an amazing day! We will also be building in plenty of time for discussion and fellowship over great food. Last year, attendees enjoyed the speakers but wanted more time to meet new people and just be Christians together. We listened and have made that a priority in this year’s schedule.
Lunch and dinner are included in your registration fee. Following the end of formal activities at St. Edwards University, we invite everyone to a social hour at Opal Divine’s Penn Field, on South Congress less than half a mile south of St. Edwards (plenty of parking is available).

The Christian libertarian movement has experienced tremendous growth over the past 6 years, and LibertarianChristians.com was at the forefront of that growth. Now, the Libertarian Christian Institute has been built on the foundation that LCC laid to push the cause of Christ and liberty ever forward.
All Christian libertarians encounter difficulties organizing and networking to help spread liberty ideas with our fellow Christians. Social networks, such as the Christian libertarian Facebook group, have had some success in bringing Christian libertarians together online, but the CFL conferences are a superb way of meeting face to face to encourage, learn, build up, and send out Christian libertarians with new mission.
This is the third annual Christians for Liberty Conference in Austin, Texas. For the past two years, well over a hundred dedicated Christians came together for intense weekends full of great speakers, fellowship with fellow libertarian Christians, and experiences with some of the best organizations in Texas and throughout the United States. Starting from there we have used this momentum to start small group meet-ups across the United States and establish the Libertarian Christian Institute as a leading organization in the libertarian and Christian communities.
We have said it before and we’ll say it again: you will not find any event like this anywhere else. Getting just a few Christian libertarians together in the same place can be difficult – putting hundreds in the same room is something you cannot miss! We look forward to seeing you in Austin this August!
