On March 30th, Aaron Barker and I had a great interview on his program. We talked about Christian faith and liberty, a bit on Ron Paul, economics, and even a bit on foreign policy and political theory. You can quickly download the file here. Look for the March 30th entry, and download Hour 1.

Alternatively, here is a direct link to the mp3 download.

I do not know why I have not thought to mention this, but Isaac Morehouse and I will be giving lectures at the Students for Liberty Dallas Conference this Saturday (11/12/11). You can also meet Texas State Representative David Simpson, who was the only Rep. in the Texas legislature with guts enough to stand up against the TSA. You may remember that David and I spearheaded the legislation to stop egregious TSA searches in Texas during this past year.

imageStudents for Liberty is a great organization, and I am very proud to be a part of their mission to teach the next generation of university students about liberty. Now, my understanding is that you CAN still attend, but try to contact the organizers if you can via their website. I also understand that it is FREE to attend, and I bet that if you just wanted to come and say hello that would be fine too. It will be hosted at the University of North Texas, which is on the north side of Dallas in Denton.

Isaac is actually listed as a speaker on the web-published program, but I’m not. This is simply because Isaac is so much cooler than I am. Yeah, he is.

I’m really looking forward to this conference. I truly believe in social change as the primary means of spreading liberty, and that the way this is done is by affecting the next generation of minds through education. Texas has been my battleground for years now, and many of these students are there today because of what we started at the University of Texas at Austin just a few years ago. This is just one more step for the cause of liberty…

For some unknown reason, a few months ago the special LCC podcast feed broke down. The issue probably had something to do with settings in the WordPress plugin I use. It got so bad that iTunes even redirected the podcast feed to a single post rather than the feed itself.

The problem has been solved, and the podcast feed now works. If you unsubscribed, you can now re-subscribe in a normal feed reader or your podcast software just like normal. If you left your subscription intact, it will now work again! I have re-submitted the feed to the iTunes store, so eventually you will be able to add it directly to iTunes as well.

This has taken far too long to fix, but now that it’s done I’m looking forward to doing more podcasts again. So many things to do!

Meet Doug Douma

Posted by: | (6)

Norman’s Note: Today I’d like to introduce you to the next writer to join the LCC team, Doug Douma! I met Doug almost three years now (has it really been that long, Doug?) at the 2008 Austrian Scholars Conference, and we became fast friends due to our common bonds of Christian faith, libertarianism, and professional engineering. You might remember Doug’s previous posts about Ayn Rand and the origin of natural rights; they continue to be some of the most-viewed posts on LCC. Doug has a few words to introduce himself again to you. Take it away, Doug!

I was blessed to be raised in a Christian family. I grew up in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod and have continued to stay involved to this day. I’ve taught Sunday School for about 10 years – the first when time when I was 17. This year I’m blessed to be leading a Junior High group through the confirmation process. Read More→

Norman’s Note: LCC will soon be announcing a number of writers who will be contributing to the blog with articles, news analysis, book reviews, and more. Isaac Morehouse and I have been friends for a while now, and I am absolutely thrilled to welcome him to the LCC team!  I have asked each contributor to give their own story, so without delay, here’s Isaac…

Thanks to Norman and the whole LCC community for inviting me to blog here on a regular basis.  I expect to post something once a month or so, and I’m excited to get going!

First, a little about me and how I ended up as one of the smallest minorities on earth, a libertarian Christian… Read More→
