Podcast: Live and Let Live Radio Interview
Posted by: | CommentsToday’s podcast is actually an interview I recorded with Gary Johnson of the Live and Let Live Radio Show on RuleOfLawRadio.com about a week ago. We talked for a full two hours about Libertarian Longhorns, the Students for Liberty Texas Conference, vaccinations, student activism, and of course what it means to be Christian AND libertarian. You can download the full interview from ROLR’s archive if you like, but I’ve cut it down to about 25 minutes of straight-talk about religion and politics. Enjoy!

UPDATE: I made a flub in the interview regarding the Greek wording of the “Golden Rule” — the negative form is NOT used in the Greek. My bad, got my facts upside down in my brain…

My interview with MotorHome Diaries
Posted by: | CommentsAbout a month ago I had the great pleasure of meeting Pete Eyre, Jason Talley, and Adam Mueller of the MotorHome Diaries at the South Austin Freehold with a few of my fellow Libertarian Longhorns. We had a great time hanging out with them, and we did a few interviews with them as well.
My interview with them about Christianity and libertarianism was just posted today to YouTube, here it is!
We also had an interview for Libertarian Longhorns as well. We talk about what the point of the LL/YAL is, what we do on campus, and how college groups can develop successful programs. (Link to MHD blog post.)

I’m on the Jeff Davis Show tonight…
Posted by: | CommentsFellow liberty lover Jeff Davis and a few of my friends from Libertarian Longhorns produce a public access television show here in Austin every Sunday night and talk about liberty issues. They have invited me to come on the show and talk about – you guessed it – Libertarian Longhorns, Christian libertarianism, and LibertarianChristians.com. Unless you’re in Austin, you won’t be able to watch the show live, but you should be able to catch some of the clips on their GoogleVideo or YouTube pages. I’ll keep you updated.
If there are any Austin readers of LCC, the show starts at 10pm tonight. Check out the Jeff Davis Show website. (Be forewarned, there is some mild profanity, albeit given the issues described it is somewhat warranted, LOL.)

Podcast on Private Security with Gil Guillory
Posted by: | CommentsIn a libertarian society, the production of security services would not come from the State, but security most certainly would be provided via private security agencies and arbitration services. But to those of us living under a state-system, this is difficult to understand. I’m sure you have wondered at some point how exactly a private security agency would work.
Well, I have a special treat for you in today’s podcast. Gil Guillory is an engineer, independent scholar, and an entrepreneur who has been developing a business plan for providing security services as a startup company. He graciously agreed to explain his ideas in an interview with me a while back, and we finally were able to match our schedules and chat via Skype.
Now, this isn’t directly a theological topic, but pay attention when Gil talks about connecting charitable agencies, such as churches, with individuals who need help. There is a real, tangible benefit to private security because it is always more personal than typical police. And given just how corrupt many police have become, it is high time to seek out alternatives.
I have met some very decent police officers in the past, but even they have told me how awful things are becoming in law enforcement. I would encourage any truly good officers to seek out people like Gil and join him in this noble venture. Listen to what he has to say and think about it…
I hope you enjoy this fascinating talk. (It’s just under 20 minutes long, and sorry about the difference in volume between Gil and I…) Feel free to comment here with questions. If we get enough, perhaps Gil will agree to do a second talk where we address them!

UPDATE: Many thanks to Manuel from the LewRockwell.com blog for linking to this, welcome to LRC readers once again!
Please keep sharing it, folks, the Stumbles, Diggs, and retweets are very much appreciated!
Also, I noticed that for some reason the “title” of the podcast when you play it is And Your Bird Can Sing. Oops! It is nice intro music, though, wouldn’t you say? Great guitar…

Flip Cam Ultra = Future VIDEO POSTS!
Posted by: | CommentsI just purchased a Flip Video Ultra on Amazon. Flip Video has done a fantastic job of making video recording accessible to anyone, and everyone from David Risley to Robert Scoble raves about these cameras for their ease of use and portability. For me, I’m interested in doing some videocasts for LCC and liveblogging from the Austrian Scholars Conference, where I will be giving a talk in a couple of weeks called “Science and the Free Market.” If you’re interested in one of these nifty little devices, you can get one for $70 for the next 24 hours or so from Amazon…
Amazon Link: Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder, 30-Minutes (White): $70 until February 28
