I have wanted for quite some time to construct a page of online resources for libertarians (but especially libertarian Christians), which would include tons of links to the major libertarian websites one should be familiar with, blogs of note, and important articles. I am finally ready to release it into the wild, and I hope you find something of use on this very cool link list.

You will note that this list exists in two places on LCC: right here as a blog post, and also as a separate WordPress Page. There are two reasons for this. First, I want to feature the page prominently at the top of LibertarianChristians.com so that everyone can see it. Second, I want you to have a convenient way of commenting so that you can recommend other sites that should be on this list, and since I have comments on pages disabled that necessitates a post. I cannot claim that this is a complete list, or even that it’s my Top 100, but I want it to be constantly expanding and increasing in usefulness for everyone.

So, please take a look and feel free to comment, maybe you’ll find a site you’ve never heard of before now or an interesting classic article to read. And tell your friends to check it out, too.

At this time, the Resources Page is organized into these categories:

Libertarian Websites – the sites all libertarians should know

Libertarian Christian Blogs – Selected blogs for Christians of libertarian persuasion

General Libertarian Blogs – Selected blogs of general libertarian interest

Social Networking – Connect with other libertarians

Article Links – Significant and timely articles

Biblical Studies – Various ways of obtaining biblical/historical knowledge online

(I’m still working on HTML anchors for the headings, be patient!)

Without further ado, the list!

So, with my first post here on LibertarianChristians.com, I will first introduce myself. My name is Dustin Horn, I am Norman’s brother and have a degree in computer science, and I may soon be taking over many of the webdesign and graphic design elements of the website.

So, what I am posting about is the need for pictures on the website. Pictures with a libertarian or/and Christian theme that could be used on the rotating pictures above or in other ways if we were to switch themes at a later time. What you, the readers, can do is post pictures or links to pictures in the comments below, and I will collect them all to perhaps be used on the website at a later date.

I will start out with one of my favorite pictures, though not really within the theme…

Christians are becoming ever more aware of the corruption and deceit of their respective political leaders, but finding good material on the internet about libertarianism from a Christian perspective can sometimes be a bit tricky. So, here are some websites with useful content for Christian libertarians that you should consider reading regularly.

The Acton Institute – The famed Lord Acton is known for saying “power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The institute that now bears his name is dedicated to the study of religion and liberty. They publish a blog and a few scholarly journals.

The Christian Libertarian Yahoo Group – This discussion group has moderate email volume and is definitely well worth being a part of. Many great conversations have been archived, and you can keep informed on a variety of issues by participating.

Campaign for Liberty – The heroic Ron Paul continues the fight for freedom through the CFL, whose genesis was the incredible presidential primary that shocked the world. Lots of familiar names to libertarians have come together to promote constitutional law, civil liberties, sound money, and a foreign policy of peace.

LewRockwell.com – LRC is one of the greatest libertarian op-ed sites on the net today, and many Christians write articles for them. Look for Bill Barnwell, Thomas Woods, Jeff Tucker, Emmanuel Charles McCarthy, Laurence Vance, and even Lew Rockwell himself as excellent examples of Christian libertarians. Make sure to subscribe to the blog as well as the daily articles.

The Mises Institute – A libertarian who has not studied economics in some fashion has not studied enough. The Mises Institute is arguably the best place on the internet to learn about the workings of the free market. Their online library of free material is absolutely phenomenal. Like LRC, many Christians have published material here as well.

Antiwar.com – While not explicitly a Christian website, Antiwar.com is the most essential source for learning about about what is going on in the Middle East today. Cut through the garbage of what the media tells you and get to the bottom of all of it!

The Advocates for Self-Government – This is a great website for learning about principles of liberty. There are tons of resources here, including a page specifically for Christian thinkers.

Wikipedia – Okay, so this might sound a bit sketchy, but you can learn a lot from Wikipedia through the libertarianism portal, like what agorism is or explanations of natural rights. They even have an entry for Christian libertarianism.

The Humble Libertarian – A rather new blog with some excellent commentary. These guys deserve to be in your RSS reader!

LibertariansChristians.com (formerly on Blogspot), of course! Subscribe to the RSS feed (or by email) and come back often to learn more about the Christian faith and principles of liberty.

Happy browsing, and keep the faith!

UPDATE: I don’t know why I didn’t think to add the Independent Institute to this list of links. They are a great organization and well worth following!
