Remember, Remember, the Fifth of November

No. Words alone won’t do it. We don’t need another speech. The world needs a song.

I am a bitter and disillusioned old man. I don’t mean to filibuster or annoy you. But I do remember Tienanmen, where a few good Chinese officials believed as you do. “You have the people? You have nothing.” came the reply. I do remember Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged,” where one enlightened man grabs the opportunity to speak and be heard. A movie of the novel was made. One of America’s finest actors played the role (Gary Cooper, Ala “High Noon”) Rand herself nearly upchucked when she saw it. It gets worse. My friend. Please forgive me for saying so. The Unibomber and Lee Harvey Oswald were trying to high-jack the nation’s attention that way. (Sometimes it works! John Brown pulled it off! And he was right, too!)
