ceived is that it is effective in reaching the typical Evangelical/Conservative Tea Party member and infecting their mind with devious seeds of Libertarianism. To reach that audience, I felt it needed to be approachable, hence the title and cover.

My goal was to plant seeds, not deliver a Matrix-like, red-pill experience. Hopefully, the reader will walk away seeing the inconsistencies in their worldview, and be open to the influence of others. Rink plants the seeds, Murray Rothbard and Thomas Woods water them, and the cause of Liberty gets the increase...so to speak.

As fas as putting the Constitution on too high a pedestal...that is probably a fair assessment. However, I liken it to something the Apostle Paul says. Introduce them to the Law (the Constitution) which in the end is not sufficient for salvation (Liberty). It is merely a schoolmaster to lead them in the right direction. For my target audience, that is largely ignorant of what the Constitution and the Founders really said and meant, getting them to that step first is important. Moving beyond the Constitution comes after that.

It works differently for different people, Jaime. There is more than one path to discovering liberty. Some people are slower than others (like me), some people grasp it immediately. Some come with a lot of baggage. Some come with fear and trepidation. There is one truth, but more than one approach vector. So be gracious and help people along.

You need to aim for the stars if you want to hit the moon with this ideology. It wasn't a progression of ideas that awoke me, but a stark contrast of reality juxtaposed with the lies I've always been told. That is what wakes a person out of the Matrix - not a taste, but an immersion. ( :

I've done it enough times now to others - it's pretty darn successful.

Jaime, knowing Jason and having read his book in full I know that even what
he's saying here will shock many Christians and make them reconsider their
values. It's important to welcome them and to challenge them, not
immediately bombard with words they will not understand. Remember when you
first became a libertarian. Did it not take a little time to understand
things? Be gracious, and willing to teach. "Disciple" them along, if you
prefer to use those words. You know that I'm radical - but I also understand
that I can't drop *Human Action* on someone and expect them to understand in
a week's time.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think Jason has done a pretty good thing for us here.

I think he's putting the constitution too high on the pedestal. It's still made by men and God never seemed to be fond of man's institutions - somehow they always end up trying to replace Him. ( :

First off, keep the book's target audience in mind -- people who are just
beginning to understand what liberty means. Jason also makes it pretty
clear, I think, that a true "Patriot" is one who loves liberty more than
country, one who holds true principle above pure allegiance. That's what
he's trying to convince the reader of.

Norman, what do you think about the term "Christian Patriot". Is it implied in this book that a Christian should love his country? What if I want to love another country instead? Or every country?
