Nice post, Norman.

Our politicians love to blame capitalism and the so-called free market for all our economic woes, when it is actually corporatism (government involvement in the market) that is the problem and the underlining cause. Thus they use the excuse, "capitalism caused it", to secretly rob us of more of our freedoms and property - which they then in turn use to gain more power. Anyone who does some research will easily uncover the truth that government distorts and corrupts everything it touches and is the real cause of our economic crises.

Thank you for using your blog to fight this blatant lie that the American people have grown to accept as truth. - Cheers Jason

Good point, Jaired. Most people appreciate how business and commerce benefits their lives, what people often don't understand is how government manages to distort the market in a myriad of ways that squelch competition, reduce quality of service, and raise costs. Hence, the mission of orgs like FEE, Mises, the Independent Institute, and many others whose goal is to educate people about the virtue of the market and depravity of government.

Great post, Norm.
Big corporations have their place. But the general opinion is that capitalism = monster corporations. I think if people could be educated that the use of government coercion to clinch the competitive edge of monster corporations is anathema to, or the bane of, capitalism, maybe some people's minds would be more easily changed.
