The corporation tends to become a mini-state or city state fiefdom within a nation. It can make its own rules and decide who gets what. This power has been delegated from the state by the rules of incorporation. But if those who join this incorporation become its members willingly in expression of their own economic freedom, if they are able to freely move from one organization to another, and if there is free and open competition between and amongst individuals, corporations and city states, economic freedom is preserved. The tendency towards the evil of corporatism/statism is kept in check by the rule of law that is just for all. So we address the issue not by ridding the world of corporatism, but by the rule of law which promotes competition and free trade.

Since the word capitalism was created by materialist, why don't we just use the phrase "economic freedom" instead. Economic freedom captures the essence of the American philosophy of self government, of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Corporatism is a result of statism, not capitalism. So although I would agree that certain aspects of corporations are legal fictions and evil, not all elements of corps are bad and it most certainly is not a symptom, or even a necessary evil, of a truly free market.
