Podcast: Vicesimus Knox, Minister of Peace

By Norman

This is the sixth installment of the Christianity and War Audiobook Podcast, presented by LibertarianChristians.com. Today’s reading is the essay entitled “Vicesimus Knox, Minister of Peace.” It dawned on me as I was recording this essay that this section of the book (Chapter 1: Christianity and War) takes up the greatest portion of the book, mainly because a number of the essays are pretty long. Since you don’t have to read them in any particular order, I decided that I will do a few of the essays out of the book order in order to group some of the shorter ones together. For now, though, enjoy hearing about this great man of the pulpit, Vicesimus Knox.

One other thing… I want to ask a favor of iTunes users: would you consider rating and reviewing the LCC Podcast in the iTunes store? I would very much appreciate it, and it will help get the word out a little more. Thanks!

I’m not able to download or listen to this installment…anyone else have a problem?

  2. Norman says:

Marty: I don’t seem to be experiencing this problem. I’m using Firefox 3.5 on Windows XP… Vista users may have some issue with the Adobe Flash Player (it’s had issues for a while), but you should at least be able to download it. Did you try to open it through an email subscription? If anyone else is having the problem, please say so. I’ll try to fix any issues that I can.

    Norman,

I am running Vista, and was not able to download by right-clicking in Windows IE. I tried it in Firefox and it worked fine. Go figure…Thanks for the help (and thanks for recording this important book)!

  4. Norman says:

Hey Marty: I’m glad you got it to work for you. I’ll hazard to guess that the Flash Player was acting up due to Vista. When you right-clicked in IE before, the command to use should either be “Save link as” or “Save target as” or “Save file as”. I probably should check it out myself and modify that link text accordingly. (But, just FYI, I highly recommend switching to Firefox permanently, if at all possible. I think it is a far better browser, plus I love to use extensions.)

I’m glad your enjoying the book. Make sure to tell your friends! :-D
